Teacher Intention
Certain virtues, e.g. Perseverance, are crucial to success in school. To nurture a child's perseverance
and resilience, we try to model and expect it of them throughout the school day. At Floreat we do this most effectively through our curriculum. For example, in Nursery all children persevere to hang their coat on their peg and then sit quietly on the carpet. In Reception we expect all children to memorise their number bonds to ten - publicly recognising each child as they achieve the timed-goal.
These videos explore further how our teachers model intention and use purposeful teaching techniques to help children habituate virtuous behaviours.
